Caleb Ashlock

Birth:  

Family Information: Son of Mary and Whelo Ashlock.

Brother of Priscilla, Paul, Ruth, Mark, Naomi and Coleman Ashlock.  

Description: He was born in 1914 at Illinois.  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 he was living in Illinois with his parents and siblings.

In March 1929 the family drove in from Illinois -- the father, mother and seven children all looked bright and healthy. Mr. Ashlock was a farmer and two of the boys were big enough to be good helpers.

Home in Colony: In 1930 he was living in the colony with his parents and six siblings.  

Job in Colony: In April 1929 he and his father and brother were hoeing cantaloupes and melons and helping with the corn.

Other Info: In June 1929 the parish superintendent presented diplomas to the graduates of grade school including: Allie Belle Hewitt, Lois Brattland, June Enfield, Ruth Kingsbury, Paul Ashlock, Caleb Ashlock, John Armacost, Jesse Armacost, Roslyn Armacost, Elmer Jensen, Roy Swenson, Royal Thompson, Fred Busick, Robert Roe, Cletus Killian and Pauline Eggleston.  

Post-Colony History: In 1940 he was living in La Porte, Texas with his wife Virginia, and working as a miller in a rice mill.  

Death: He died in 1984 at Texas and was buried at Seabrook Cemetery in Harris County, Texas.
