Family Information: He had never married, but had a sister who lived in another state.  

Description: He was quiet and retiring, but courteous and friendly.  

Pre-Colony History: He joined the colony from Texas around 1931.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: Blacksmith -- in 1935 he was putting together a wagon wheel; the spokes and part that held the rim were turned out in the planing mill, and then "Dad" Long would assemble them at the blacksmith shop.

Post-Colony History:  

Death: He died in November 1935 at a Shreveport hospital -- a victim of cancer of the ear. Less than two weeks before his death he'd been working away in the wheelwright and wagon shop.
