Job in Colony: He worked in the print shop.

In August 1930 he and Freeman finished making up the forms of the "Democrat" and Jacob Wolkeau, Hope Shoemaker and Laura Synoground attended to the presswork, folding and mailing. Fred Hamel, Ruby Nesnow and Anna Belle Wilkerson pounded the keys of the linotypes. Mardfin was busy in the bindery, binding school books for the colony.

In October 1931 he and Raicoff were working on job work for Leesville customers in the print shop.
