Walter Roe

Birth: He was born around 1921 in Nebraska.  

Family Information: Son of Ben Roe and Florence (Roe) Hamel.

Brother of Robert, Warren, Frances and Lucille Roe.

His father later married Mary Halahan and he became step-brother of Joe Blackshear.

His mother later married Alfred Hamel and he became step-brother of Margaret Hamel.

Other Info: In 1929 he got off the train at the colony depot. He was returning from a seven-month stay with his grandmother in Arlington, Nebraska.

In 1932 he played the baritone horn in the newly organized Junior Orchestra which was being organized and taught by Fred Hamel.
