Lyndle "Lyn" Peecher Alternate spelling Lindel

Birth: He was born in 1931 at the New Llano Colony.

Family Information: Son of Chester R. and Florine Peecher.

Brother of Robert, Frances, Roy and Carl Peecher.

Grand-son of Frank Peecher.

Nephew of Vera Peecher and cousin of her children, Richard and Dortha Peecher.


Pre-Colony History:  

Home in Colony: In 1935 the family was living in the Newllano Colony.  

Job in Colony:  

Other Info: He sang "Humpty Dumpty" at a theater program in 1937.  

Post-Colony History: In 1940 the family was living in a home in the unincorporated New Llano, Louisiana (site of the old colony). He attended Leesville High School and was a member of the Marching Band.

In 1951 he joined the US Navy and served aboard the USS Caloosahatchee.

He married Nellie Masud in 1956 and they made their home in Warren, Rhode Island. She died in 1980.

In 1988, 1995 and 1996 he was still living in Rhode Island where he was employed by the Bristol and Warren Gas Company. He retired in 1996 and in 1997 he was living in Leesville, Louisiana.  

Death: He died in July 2010 at his home in Leesville following a brief illness. A memorial service was held at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville though he was buried in Rhode Island.
