Rufus Murray

Birth: He was born around 1914 at Louisiana.  


Pre-Colony History:  

Family Information: Son of Emma (Phillips) and A.M. Murray.

Brother of Jack and Opal Murray. Other siblings included Jewel (Murray) Brown, Ida Mae (Murray) Dennis and Charley Murray.

Uncle of Herman and Sybil Murray.  

Job in Colony: In January 1936 the boilers "resumed operation" with A.M. Murray in charge, William Heath, Ben Clark and Rufus Murray firing; general assistant, Harry Ribbing.

In February 1936, A.M. Murray and Ed Brown, were on the morning shift, keeping the steam engine running to supply power to the industries, while Rufus Murray and Heath took the afternoon shift. Schow and Harry Ribbing kept them supplied with fuel.
