Archie Emry 

Birth: Born about 1916 in Iowa.  


Pre-Colony History: In 1920 was living in Iowa with his parents; in 1930 he was living in Montana with his mother.

In September 1931 the Emry family including Cora Emry, Helen, Basil, Willard and Archie returned to the colony from Montana -- they had left the colony four years prior (probably shortly after the death of Robert. The trip took them nine days as they visited with friends along the way.  

Family Information: Son of Robert H. and Cora Mae Emry; brother of Basil, Kenneth, Willard and Helen Emry; half-brother of Annette (Emry) Bradshaw and Opal (Emry) Layer.  

Job in Colony: In 1932 was hoisting ice from the freezing tanks and sliding it into the ice room. In March 1932 he was working the 11 PM to 7 AM shift there.
