James "Jimmy" Swenson

Birth: He was born in 1910 in Minnesota.

Family Information: Son of Carl and Emily Swenson.

Brother of Clyde, Chester, Earl, Roy, Florence and Eugene Swenson.

In June 1931 he married another child of the colony, Laura Synoground. The "loving couple" slipped away on a Saturday and were married by Dr. Irwin of the Commonwealth Community.  

Description: His WWII Draft Card described him as weight 160 with a light complexion; he had hazel eyes and brown hair.  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 he was living in Minnesota with his parents and siblings. At some point before his youngest brother was born in 1923, the family moved to Newllano.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: In July 1928 he and Bob Daugherty were running one of the ice trucks for the colony.

In September 1931 he and Jimmy Bertino were grinding corn at the grist mill.

Death: He died in 1980 in Oregon.
