Mentley Still

Birth: He was born around 1879 in California.  

Family Information: Husband of Anna Still.

Father of Craig, Thomas and William Still.  

Description:  

Pre-Colony History:  

Home in Colony: Comrade Still was blind, but worked as a mechanic in the colony shop. He said he "should be utterly miserable were he not permitted to use his hands for constructive work," and his only eyes were in the tips of his fingers.  

Job in Colony: In 1930 was working as a mechanic in the colony shop.

While living in the colony, he devised a clutch for retrieving a large nut that had dropped into the new well-hole located near the colony hospital and hotel, saving the colony a bad delay and heavy expense.

Post-Colony History: Left the colony with his family around 1932 and went to Lancaster, Pa. where he carved wooden belt buckles and button which were in vogue then.
