Elliott Self  

Birth: He was born in 1914 at Louisiana.  

Family Information: Son of Frank and Jeannette Self.

Brother of Hortense, Wanda and Quintin Self.  

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1930 he was living in Leesville, Louisiana with his parents and siblings.

Home in Colony: In March 1931 Mrs. Self and her children moved into the colony townsite from the Anacoco Creek sawmill location so that the children could attend school.

Job in Colony: In October 1931 he and Carl Bradshaw rebuilt the unloading rack for veneer logs.

Also in October 1931 Comrades Webb and Carl Bradshaw finished digging a septic tank pit at the hospital which George Hullinger, Wesley Wright, Chas. Baughman, Fred Busick and Elliott Self would build up as soon as they finished with the septic tank at the hotel.  

Other Info: In 1932 he played the French horn in the newly organized Junior Orchestra which was being organized and taught by Fred Hamel.  

Post-Colony History: In 1935 and 1940 he was living in Port Arthur, Texas -- in 1940 he was employed as an experimental helper at a petrouleum refinery.

Death: He died in 1991 and was buried in the Self Cemetery at Hornbeck, Louisiana.
