Opal Murray

Birth: She was born around 1920 at Louisiana.  

Family Information: Daughter of Emma (Phillips) and A.M. "Mack" Murray.

Sister of Jack, Charley and Rufus Murray. Other siblings included Jewel (Murray) Brown and Ida Mae (Murray) Dennis.

Aunt of Herman and Sybil Murray.  

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 she was living with her parents and siblings in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. In 1930 they were living in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: In January 1936 she was assisting Mrs. Burbank as she attended to the hotel dining room for all meals.

In September 1936 she was ironing finished pieces at the laundry.  

Other Info: For Christmas 1935 Mrs. Turner, Sarah Murray and Opal Murray, with Ben Clark to do the nailing, decorated the hotel dining room "most beautifully" with quantities of holly, paper chains and mottoes.
