Home in Colony: In 1937 he had a room in the new hotel.  

Job in Colony: In June 1928 Tom and Alex Davidson, Hough, Waters, McClurg, Daugherty, Rosenburg, Mardfin, Weislander and Harold Kemp were working hard in the gardens to make up for time lost to rainy days.

In December 1928 Waters, McClurg, Ross Brannon and Hopkins, with three teams and wagons, started hauling peanuts to the dairy where the thresher was located. Roe and Enfield got the thresher and Fordson tuned up and as soon as the nut supply began to arrive Com. Gregson started to feed the machine and the work was on. They stayed with the job until almost six o'clock and finished up. Of course, Van Nuland, our dairy man, and some of the boys did their bit in completing that job which had been slated to take two days.

In September 1931 he was working on the farm -- at that point taking care of the late cow peas -- along with Quipp, Bartram, Grover, Jernberg, Ogden, Harry Morgan, Luther Mackentyre, Robert Roe, Fred Busick, Waters and "Dad" Stevens.

In February 1933 he and Gordon Pickett were burning brush on days when the grass was wet so that the fire wouldn't get away from them. In April of that year he had planted most of the beans with the two row planter except a piece of the garden which Gordon Pickett had planted with the one-row planter. Mrs. Gordon Pickett had put in many beans by hand with whatever help she could get.  

Other Info: In 1928 he was one of the founding members of the local Conscientious Objectors Union; Theodore Atworth served as the first Secretary-Treasurer with O.E. Enfield serving as the President. The organization was planned to be international, composed of people who refused to go to war as a matter of conscience. Charter members included: Theodore Atworth, Mary H. Atworth, Emily H.
