Florence Kapotsy

Birth: She was born in September 1915 in Connecticut.  

Family Information: Daughter of Albert and Florence Kapotsy. Her mother probably died around 1919 -- between the birth of Charles in that year and the census in 1920.

Step-daughter of Marguerite Kapotsy.

Sister of Emma, Albert, Jr., Margaret, Charles and Richard Kapotsy.

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 she was living in Connecticut with her father and siblings while he was working as a plumber in a shop.  

Home in Colony: In 1930 the family was listed twice on the US census -- once in the colony and once in Leesville, LA, so possibly around this time they were making the move to Leesville and somehow were counted twice. In both cases her father, Albert, was listed as a plumber, but the page in Leesville had additional family members that were not present on the colony listing -- Albert's oldest daughter, Emma, and his sister, Mary Kapotsy (who was a nurse in DeRidder).

Post-Colony History: In 1937 her name listed with the Social Security Office was Florence Mary Kapotsy; in 1942 it was changed to Florence Mary Sanders; and in 1948 to Florence Mary Breuer.  

Death: She died in March 2006. Her last residence listed with the Social Security Office was at Merryville, Louisiana.
