Elwood Beals Hoffpauir

Birth: He was born in 1910 at Knoxville, Tennessee.  

Family Information: Son of May (Beals) Hoffpauir.

Nephew of Cora (Beals) West and cousin of Cora's daughter, Gertrude (West) Newman.  

Description: On his undated WWII Draft Registration he was described as 5'9" tall, weight 148 with a light complexion, blue eyes and blonde hair.  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 he was living in Jennings, Louisiana with his uncle's (Frederick West) family (including his cousin, Gertrude) and his maternal grandmother (Hannah Beals).

In 1922 he came to the colony with his cousin, Gertrude, with plans to make the colony his permanent home.

Post-Colony History: In 1935, 1948 and 1950 he was a registered Democrat in Los Angeles, California, though in 1936 he registered as a Socialist. In 1940 he was living alone in California.  

Death: He died in 1993 at Los Angeles, California.
