Charley Hayes

Birth: He was born in 1876 at Wisconsin.  

Family Information: Father of Leona (Hayes) Stevens, Helen (Hayes) Swenson and Erma Hayes.  

Description: In 1918 he was of medium height with a stout build; he had gray eyes and light brown hair.  

Pre-Colony History: In 1918 he was married and working as a farmer for himself.  

Home in Colony: In 1932 he was living at the Rice Ranch.  

Job in Colony: In January 1932 he and Elmer Cayton were looking after the herd at the goat ranch, feeding and milking the goats and delivering the milk to the Kindergarten.

In 1932 he moved to the Rice Ranch where he would supervise the gardening and his pretty young daughters would help with the cooking and housecleaning.  

Other Info:  

Post-Colony History: In 1935 he was living near the colony in Vernon Parish when his daughters visited.
