Birth: Born around 1902 in Pennsylvania.

Pre-Colony History:  

Home in Colony: In 1930 he was listed as a lodger with the Willie Maltby family.  

Job in Colony: In 1929 he was most often working in the sawmill, frequently helping out with the cut-off saw.

In 1930 he began working as a  gardener, primarily in the orchard with Comrade Hiatt; In 1930 they were raising a crop of pop corn among the younger trees. In May 1930, when the Maltby's moved into town and the Palmer family moved out to the poultry farm, he worked in the poultry house and garden out there.
