Elmer Cayton

Birth: He was born in 1872 at Michigan.

Family Information: Brother of Doc Cayton.  

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1920 he was living near his brother in Elmwood, Louisiana and working as a farmer.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: In January 1932 he and Hayes were looking after the herd at the goat ranch, feeding and milking the goats and delivering the milk to the Kindergarten.

In February 1936, he and Wade Hewitt pruned the pear trees in the Colony orchard.

Other Info: In January 1933 he was looking "rather peaked as though having been drawn through a small hole." He'd had a battle with germs but was improving and expected to be well within a few days.

Post-Colony History: In 1940 he was widowed and living in Vernon Parish, Louisiana with his partner in a commercial nursery, B. Wade Hewett.

Death: He died in 1952 and was buried in the O'Banion Cemetery at New Llano, Louisiana.
