Pre-Colony History: The family arrived in the fall of 1934 from Evangeline Prairie, Louisiana.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: In 1934 he became the assistant of William Bingham in the broom factory. It was a new trade which would be useful to him since the soil and climate of Western Louisiana produced abundant broom corn. 

Other Info: In 1934 he attended 6th grade at the colony school.
