Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bridwell

Birth: She was born in 1890 in Illinois.  

Family Information: Wife of L.H. Bridwell.

Mother of Kathleen, Harlan, Dario and Dorothy Bridwell.  

Description:  

Pre-Colony History: In 1910 she was living in Illinois with her husband.

The family came to the colony from Forestburg, Texas in 1928.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: She worked in the hotel under the management of Dick Condon.

In March 1929 the hotel crew included the Mesdames Maki, Swenson and Bridwell and the Misses Kathleen Bridwell and Jennie Black.  

Other Info: In 1928-29 she was often part of the program at the theater. In November 1928 she and Kathleen sang two duetts during one of the colony programs.

In January 1929 she became a member of the Conscientious Objector's Union.

In May 1929 she and Kathleen gave a vocal selection with guitar accompaniment at the colony theater. A solo by Mrs. Bridwell served as an encore.  

Post-Colony History: In 1940 she was living in Texas with her husband and three youngest children.  

Death: She died in 1974 in Texas from heart disease.
