Dorothy Bridwell

Birth: She was born in 1922 at Forestburgh, Texas.  

Family Information: Daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Bridwell.

Sister of Kathleen, Harlan and Dario Bridwell.

Other Info: In 1929 she was often part of the program at the theater. She was a junior member of the Glee Club.

In February 1929 Miss Mary Erma Wilson, assisted by Mrs. M.A. Brattland presented a program at the colony theater which featured many of their students -- Dorothy sang two solo songs plus, along with Kathleen and their mother, sang "Mellow Moon," a vocal trio accompanied by Kathleen on a zither guitar.

In May 1929 she was part of a quartette who performed in the theater, along with Delsie Hopkins, Iris Busick and Irene Maki. Those "four little girlies most certainly s[a]ng most excellent to the piano accompaniment by Miss Mary Erma Wilson."  

Post-Colony History: In 1940 she was living with her parents and two brothers in Texas.

When her father died in 1951 she was named in his obituary as a survivor under the name Dorothy Blanton of Fort Worth, Texas.  

Death: She died in 2011, most likely at Texas -- her obituary was listed in a Fort Worth, Texas newspaper. She was survived by her siblings Harlan Bridwell, Kathleen Smith and Rio Bridwell.
