Pre-Colony History: He was a member during the California days, making the trip to Louisiana in Doc Williams' car, along with Doc, Ed Bruhl and Bert Kenny.  

Home in Colony:  

Job in Colony: He worked in the apiary during California days.

In 1918, at the Louisiana location, he started Poultry Department No. 2, better known in later years as the Hoag Ranch. It was located about 1 1/2 miles from the Colony Hotel. Although Babb was no longer in the colony in 1934, at that time the site had two houses, barns, an excellent poultry house, an orchard, berry patch and garden.  

Other Info: In 1932 Doc Williams remembered more than 15 years prior when he'd helped his good friend, Babb, build a house on the "old, picturesque Sabine road" (the Hoag Ranch) -- they thought they'd found a solution for sound proof walls -- they put sawdust in the walls -- which did NOT work.
